An Hour Before Daylight : Memoirs of a Rural Boyhood by Jimmy Carter

What I discovered about this book is it has less about politics and more about the time and place he grew up. I found it quite interesting to read a young boys take on the black-white relationships in the south when he was a boy. It was quite interesting to see how and why he became the man he did, whether or not you agree with him and his actions. Overall, this was a very good book and I really enjoyed it. So many times, I forgot that I was reading about a future president of our country. He has a good heart and you see that in this book.

I really enjoyed this book a lot. I hadn’t read Koontz in a long time and had forgotten how good he could be. This is definitely different than most of his books. A very good and quick read with lots of twists and turns.

As far as Koontz books goes, this is one I really had a hard time reading. It was too bouncy from character to character and I really didn’t grow attached to any of them. I made myself finish the book as the first half did not grab me at all. It was better in the last third but I also didn’t like the ending too much. I hope this isn’t what his writing is going to be from now on as he is one of my favorite authors.

I just finished this book this morning. After reading this series, I loved Odd the character but did not enjoy this book as much as the other one

In this one, he is at a monastary and finds that the children are in danger. There are strange creatures that can and do kill unlike the bodachs and ghosts. As usual, Odd is ready to sacrifice all to save the innocent.
